I have done commissions as wedding gifts and birthday gifts, to decorate new homes, honor big accomplishments, and remember special places. If you have an idea for a painting you’d like to hang in your home, or give as a gift, please get in touch! I’d love to make something unique for you. How the commission process works:
- Email me with your idea. This can be anything from “I want a gift for my grandma and she likes yellow,” to “I want a painting of my house, but add flowers, move this tree and put a wreath on the door, and make it 16 x 20.” Portraits, houses, pets, your wedding bouquet, a favorite vacation photo…whatever you find meaningful.
- I will get back to you promptly with pricing, any questions about specifics, and a tentative timeline. Usually it takes me about two weeks from finalizing a composition to finishing a painting.
- Pay online. Once we have size and subject matter finalized, I will send you a link to a custom Etsy listing for you to purchase.
- I will send you a rough sketch to approve, and you can feel free to request changes or alterations to the composition. (Common requests are things like, “Make this tree smaller” or “Make her shirt blue.”)
- Once you approve the sketch, I’ll start working on the final painting and give you a date when you can expect it to be completed. It generally takes about two weeks.
- When the painting is finished, I will email you a photo of the final piece before shipping. (If you don’t love it and don’t want it, you get a full refund.) Shipping is free and once it ships, you will get a notice with tracking info. Paintings usually take three business days to arrive.
How pricing works
Some types of popular subjects have standard prices based on size and number of subjects (see below). If you are interested in a piece that doesn’t fall into one of these categories, or in a specific size you don’t see here, please feel free to ask me about what your idea would cost. Generally, price is based on size and complexity; something larger but very simple (a large piece of lettering) might cost less than something smaller but far more complex (a family portrait).
Houses, Pets, People
5″x 7″ – $90
8″x 10″ – $170
11″x 14″ – $260
16″x 20″ – $380
The prices above are for a single-family home or townhouse, a single pet, and a portrait with a single subject. For each additional pet or person in the painting, add $50 to the price.
